How to Deal With Us

When in a disagreement with someone who has Borderline Personality Disorder,

never fight fire with fire.

If things get too heated,

further discussion can come later when the atmosphere is more settled.

When we are in a state of depression,

we Borderlines should identify it and learn to explain to others around us that we are in a down phase and will try to function as well as we can.

If we are with people to whom we can not comfortably explain our situation,

we can maintain a low profile and actively try to avoid dealing with some of the demands on us.

Impulsive acts can be extremely frustrating for our friends and relations,

particularly if the acts are set destructive.

This trait is especially unnerving when it emerges at a relatively stable point in our life.

Indeed,

impulsive behaviors may emanate precisely because life is settling and we feel uncomfortable in a crisis free state.

Anger is a common reaction when,

as frequently occurs,

we feel manipulated or simply don’t like or understand a certain behavior.
